Position: Labor & Delivery Nurse
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 3 Months

Job Summary: Client is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in maternal and child health, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation. The Labor & Delivery Nurse will play a critical role in providing care and support to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to expectant mothers and newborns during labor and delivery.
• Monitor and assess the health and well-being of the mother and baby during labor and delivery.
• Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures as needed.
• Administer conscious sedation as needed during labor and delivery.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians and other nurses, to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate and provide support to expectant mothers and their families throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
• Adhere to hospital policies and protocols, as well as safety and infection control standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest medical practices and protocols related to labor and delivery.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience in maternal and child health, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
• Valid RN license in the state of [insert state].
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
