Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Director with administration and implementation of all aspects of Bertha Alyce School. This includes but is not limited to budgets, meeting state and Texas Rising Star standards, supervision of staff, and scheduling. The Assistant Director is responsible for interfacing with families, staff, lay leadership and appropriate community entities. This position is 12 months, 40 hours per week.
  1. To supervise BAS staff(Age groups to be determined).
  2. Ensure BAS is fully compliant with all state licensing and Texas Rising Star requirements.
  3. Provides strong, professional and accurate management of front office and enrollment
  4. To assist with marketing and promotion of programs.
  5. Oversee department supplies and distribution of supplies.
  6. To develop and maintain relationships with families, staff and lay leaders.
  7. To support overall missions and goals of the ERJCC.
  8. Actively participate in discussions surrounding best practices in Early Childhood Education, capable of integrating the most successful strategies from a number of educational philosophies involving emerging curriculums, the competence of children, developmentally appropriate learning into our Reggio- inspired school.
  9. Identify grant opportunities that support educational expansion of the Bertha Alyce School.
  10. Work with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to observe classrooms and assist and/or support teachers in developing appropriate classroom practices and curriculum.
  11. Work with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in planning family and Judaic programs, parent education, school-wide programs, open house, and other special events.
  12. Participate in planning and implementing annual staff orientation, monthly staff meetings, and staff professional development with the purpose of elevating our teachers.
AGENCY EXPECTATIONS

  3. Participate in agency-wide Open House/Program Registration days as required
  4. Support and foster the Jewish and secular goals of the Bertha Alyce School and the ERJCC
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree required
  2. Master's degree preferred
  3. Minimum 3-5 years Classroom Experience
  4. 3-5 years Supervisory or Management experience a plus
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  6. Excels at communicating to parents, board members, and staff the goals of our programs. Able to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel.
  7. Able to grow their program including the ability to create and implement a business plan that meets budget goals.
  8. Deadline/Task orientated sense of urgency.
  9. High energy, takes responsibility.
  10. Team oriented
  11. Willingness to be flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for special events.
  12. Willingness to perform job tasks not part of immediate job responsibilities but aides in member satisfaction and getting the job done.
