Evangelical Childrens Home is Hiring a Foster Care Case Manager- Franklin County Near St Louis, MO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide case management services to children and their families in foster and adoptive care system. 
  • Formulate permanency goals for assigned children.
  • Formulate concurrent plans for assigned children.
  • Assess risk of child abuse/neglect and on-going safety of children.
  • Assess child and family functioning, family strengths, family needs, stressors and coping mechanisms.
  • Research and refer children and families for needed services.
  • Evaluate the impact of services.
  • Testify on behalf of assigned children in court.
  • Provide parent education.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Comply with all required contractual documentation standards.
  • Provide face-to-face meetings with assigned children and out-of-home care providers according to prescribed time frames.
  • Schedule, coordinate and facilitate FST meetings within prescribed time frames.
  • Secure appropriate and least restrictive out-of-home placements for assigned children.
  • Arrange for medical and dental exams, medications, treatment testing or routine health services for assigned children in out-of-home placements.
  • Assist families in meeting the cost of care expenses.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in social work, psychology, counseling or a related human service field from an accredited school. A minimum of one year of previous experience providing family and children services.

 Language Skills 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 Mathematical Skills 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 Reasoning Ability 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 Computer Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Word Processing software.

 Other Qualifications 

Have experience in providing social services and/or child protective services to families.

Have experience in providing in-home services to children and their families.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills of interpersonal engagement, communication, systemic therapy, cognitive-behavioral skill-building, and child protection.

Demonstrates willingness to work a non-structured, flexible work schedule including evening and weekends.
