Job overview:  

We are seeking a talented and creative Intermediate Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating captivating visual content for digital & print platforms, with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics. Collaborating closely with our marketing and art director, you will contribute to the development of engaging assets that effectively communicate our brand message and drive user engagement. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and current trends in design.

Location: Brooklyn, NY (hybrid work schedule)
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the creative team to brainstorm ideas, provide design feedback, and contribute to the overall creative vision.
  • Assist with brand book development, style guides, and design templates to provide clear direction for internal teams and external partners.
  • Create high-quality graphics, including but not limited to logos, icons, web banners, social media assets, email newsletters, digital advertisements, and print collateral.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visually compelling assets that align with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  • Assist in the production of multimedia content, such as video graphics and animations, when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity and consistency in design projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in digital design and incorporate innovative ideas into design projects.
  • Maintain organized files and adhere to file management best practices to ensure efficient workflow and easy access to assets.
  • Ensure all design deliverables meet quality standards, and deadlines.

Digital:

  • Create Web banners, web banners, email assets, and paid digital advertisements.
  • Work close with the social media team is essential to ensure that social graphics align with the overall social media strategy and content calendar.
  • Collaborate with freelance designers’ other stakeholders to implement design solutions effectively and consistently.
  • Assist with all image and assets crops needed for digital toolkits.

Print:

  • Create graphic applications for OOH needs like flyers, posters, menus, etc.
  • Assist with visual merchandising needs like 5x7s and shelf strip graphics.
  • Prepare files for print production, including setting up bleeds, color separations, and ensuring proper file formats.

Requirements:

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital design & print projects. Portfolio should show a range of design projects demonstrating creativity, technical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, digital media, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in digital graphic design, preferably in a creative agency or in-house marketing team.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma).
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint & Keynoteare a plus
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and ideas.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for creating visually stunning and engaging digital experiences.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong design, verbal, organizational, and time management skills a must!
  • Thrive in a fast-paced multi-channel environment, with the ability to successfully juggle multiple assignments & ensure project tasks are prioritized as needed to meet objectives.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with brand book development
  • Experience with motion graphics and video editing software
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and web design principles
