Eustis Engineering is Hiring a Project Engineer Near Metairie, LA

JOB SUMMARY

Eustis Engineering is currently looking for Geotechnical Project Engineers to join our team. The Project Engineer directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Engineer duties include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Plans and implements engineering projects including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements according to the client’s requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
  • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables.
  • Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of technical documents, etc.
  • Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design problems.
  • Directs integration of technical activities.
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports.
  • Interfaces with clients to provide project status reports and ensure client needs are met.
  • Provides status and progress reports to client, project team, and upper management.

Other duties of the Project Engineer include the following.

  • Attends occasional project meetings.
  • Participates in local professional societies (ASCE, ACI, ACEC, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • As a minimum, a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET Accredited Curriculum with four years of work experience after earning the degree. A master's degree in civil engineering is, however, preferred with emphasis in geotechnical engineering or graduate level course work and/or a certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
    Excellent project management skills.
  • Proficiency in appropriate engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

SALARY

The salary range for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the position’s office location.
