Etica Group, Inc. is Hiring a Construction Inspection Department Manager Near Indianapolis, IN

Summary:

The Construction Inspection Department Manager develops and manages people and primarily INDOT and DPW related projects in order to propel growth within the Inspection Department and Etica Group. Responsible for helping to establish, maintain and improve the company’s workflow and developing scope and budget for new projects. Actively engaging with the inspection team leads and inspectors to further their abilities and career advancement while delivering high quality project management expertise. Assists in business development efforts and works with clients to develop and maintain relationships. This position reports to the Director of Engineering Services.

Responsibilities:

Department Management:

  • Consistent, clear and timely communication with all staff to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Monitor projects and opportunities to accurately staff projects and department. Work in tandem with Human Resources to fill positions, both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the leadership team meetings and work with the Executive team and other department leadership to further the growth of Etica Group.
  • Perform and/or oversee QA/QC checks of daily, weekly, and final construction records and other client deliverables.

Project Management:

  • Develop and/or review detailed fee proposals with manhour justifications.
  • Review contracts with respect to scope, fee, and schedule considerations.
  • Submit Monthly Project Status Report to clients for all projects and confirm proper daily reports are being completed by on-site inspectors.
  • Ensure monthly invoicing for all projects are completed in accordance with accounting’s schedule.

People Management:

  • Develop, manage, and be accountable for our construction inspection team.
  • Assist Team Leaders with temporary staffing coverages in the event of scheduled or unscheduled inspector absences, including filling in personally when necessary.
  • Maintain records of staff training and certifications and maintain a plan/schedule for completing needed training (example INDOT Certified Technician Certifications).
  • Ensure awareness of staff of applicable and required safety regulations of Owners.
  • Ensure understanding of latest INDOT/Owner Standards and Specifications.
  • Manage the ongoing development of staff to further their chosen career path.

Skills & Qualifications:

B.S. Civil Engineering | preferred

5 years management experience | preferred

Experience running INDOT and DPW Related work | required

Highly organized with excellent communication, computer and leadership skills | required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
