A General Mechanic must be familiar with all aspects of company field equipment, trucks, automobiles, and small engines to include: running an established preventative maintenance (PM) program, making repairs as needed, scheduling all items for PM, mobilizing large equipment to/from job sites, licensing, registering, and training, etc. A General Mechanic must always interact with all company personnel and display a professional demeanor.
Skill set and educational requirements:
Minimum of two or three years of experience as mechanic.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Hold appropriate certifications for a mechanic’s position.
Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
Have a clean criminal record.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Proficient in both oral and written communications.
Proficient in or able to learn company truck, vehicle, and equipment GPS tracking systems.
Proficient in inventory management/control of repair parts.
Able to create an atmosphere of cooperation and professionalism with all office and field personnel.
Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
