WSB is seeking an Engineering Specialist to join our Land Development team. We are looking for an individual with a passion for land development projects, and a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. This role will collaborate to support projects that include commercial site development, residential development, and utility scale wind and solar.

Location: Minneapolis, MN & Rochester, MN

What you will do:

• Bring civil engineering scope from preliminary stage to construction documents.
• Develop plans and specifications that are complete, accurate and in accordance with WSB, client, and jurisdictional practices and requirements.
• Coordinate specific design aspects of a project with an internal design team.
• Implement precise quality control processes to ensure high quality design packages are delivered to client every time.
• Review plans and specifications for constructability, quality, and risk management.
• Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments.
• Assist Project Managers and Engineers of Record in preparing the conceptual, preliminary, and final design.
• Participate in meetings with clients and team members to assist in the delivery of our designs.
• Assist Project Managers in preparing proposals and estimates for various projects.

What you will bring:

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Design or, alternately, significant direct professional experience in civil engineering design using AutoCAD software.
• Must have 1-2 years of experience in Land Development.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proficient at site grading design and earthwork calculations.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with department personnel, other divisions, and office staff; must possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in municipal design and utility-scale renewables projects.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and Bluebeam software for design review.
