The RN Regional Team Lead for the Nurse and Vocational Rehabilitation Case Management Services (NVRS) program will report to the RN Quality Assurance Manager and will work closely with the NVRS Deputy Program Director, the Program Trainer(s), the RN Regional Quality Assurance Manager Team, and the Nurse and Vocational
Rehabilitation Case Management Team to deliver expert, quality services and supports to our Department of Labor customer and the constituents the program serves.
The RN Regional Team Lead, working with the team of other RN Regional Team Leads, shall monitor and assess the quality and performance of the DOL Nurse and Vocational Rehabilitation Case Management Services (NVRS) Contract, which supports the Office of Workmens Compensation Programs (OWCP) above and beyond the disability claims management process managed by a claims examiner by providing intensive and immediate intervention early in the disability period, assist with the medical management of disability claims, and assist with the provision of vacation rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support RN Regional Quality Assurance Manager with day-to-day oversight to ensure quality control measures are adhered to support all program services and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Program Trainers, RN Regional Quality Assurance Managers, and the FECA program to incorporate lessons learned from quality assurance findings and any corrective actions into the training materials.
  • Ensure all cases are assigned and serviced in a timely manner.
  • Manage the case reassignment process: notify FECA of the request, verify the destruction of PII, and confirm FECA approval for the case reassignment.
  • Ensure case manager access to DMP and central bill pay portal, and any equivalent thereof.
  • Ensure compliance with OWCP Records Management policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Privacy Act of 1974 and all other requirements of the PWS.
  • Ensure timely transmittal of all materials, and destruction of all materials when assignment ends.
  • Other specific tasks that may be added.
  • Monitor the day-to-day activities as follows:
  • Assign and schedules work projects.
  • Schedule special and non-routine functions.
  • Monitor day-to-day projects to ensure work completion in accordance with established timeframes.
  • Establish priorities for projects.
  • Assure the quality, quantity, and accuracy of work performed.
  • Assist in recruiting and screening of qualified Contractors RC, FN or TN Nurses.
  • Train and monitor the progress of contract staff assigned to the specific task.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager developing of corrective action plans, assessing training needs, and potential personnel actions, and other activities as directed.
  • Verify the accuracy, quality of services, and cost effectiveness of all paid services and addresses irregular reporting practices.
Minimum Qualifications Skills:
  • RN with nurse case management experience required.
  • Additional certifications/licensure preferred: COHN, CCM, CIRS/CRRN, CDMS, or ANCC/ANA.
  • 2 years case management or rehabilitation counselor supervisory experience.
  • 2 years quality assurance experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet schedule and program requirements of a program of similar size and scope.
  • 2 years experience with nursing and/or vocational rehabilitation case management in the FECA or other workers compensation arena preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal workers compensation laws, regulations, and processes preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of government contracting preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Teams.
  • Ability to type 45 wpm.
Pay Rate $43.50-$62.00 Per hour
Remote work, from home office. Occasional travel to corporate office in Ashburn, VA. Availability during off-hours via cell phone, as needed.
This is a full-time exempt position.
