Essential Credit Union is Hiring a Floating Teller Near Baton Rouge, LA
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for performing the Perfect Teller Transaction.
- Ability to travel to all branch locations.
- Performs member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan and VISA payments, transfers, and check cashing.
- Processes cash advances, travelers’ checks, official checks, issues temporary checks, saving bonds and wires.
- Disburses loan requests as needed by MSR’s and Indirect Lending Staff.
- Process mailed payments, deposits, and payoffs.
- Updates ATM and Debit card, night drop, open and closing, over and short, key box logs daily.
- Ensures all checks are processed through imaging software prompt and accurately.
- Verifies transactions.
- Monitors deposit amounts and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability.
- Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals.
- Investigates and resolves out-of-balance conditions.
- Cross-sells credit union products and services.
- Supplies account information, and quotes credit union rates.
- Fills out CTR and SARS reports as needed.
- Answers questions and solves member problems about account and loan information.
- Maintains and projects Essential FCU’s professional reputation and privacy of account information.
- Aids other personnel and staff as needed.
- Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Attends meetings and training as required.
- Maintains a clean, secure, and organized work area.
- Stays abreast of all policy changes and revisions.
- Attends annual robbery and security training.
- Secures the drawer keys.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to multiple Essential FCU locations based on scheduling needs of the Credit Union.
- Follows Bank Secrecy Act, Consumer Identification Policy, and OFAC policies.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Deliver quality service to membership and colleagues consistently.
- Adhering to BSA and OFAC regulations.
- Always adhere to member confidentiality rules and displays professionalism.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
Job Specification
High School Diploma or GED required.
Training Requirements:
- Maintain knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (word, excel, and office).
- Use of desktop computers.
- Working knowledge of other core systems.
- Annual training to ensure compliance with NCUA requirements, rules, and regulations.
- One (1) year experience in a financial institution setting.
- Working in a previous cash handling and customer service environment.
- Credit Union or banking experience desired.
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing Credit Union members and projecting a positive image to members.
- Use of critical judgment in day-to-day situations and problems within established guidelines.
Perform primarily sedentary work on computer or laptop for an average of eight (8) hours per day. Lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. when moving cash drawers or coin bags. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to use routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to work extended hours whenever needed or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, dependable, and prompt attendance.

Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and show highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on confidential matters
