Esse Health is currently seeking a full-time Referral Coordinator for our Richmond Heights Internal Medicine office.

Summary: The Referral Coordinator is responsible for obtaining pre-certifications, pre-authorizations, and referrals for patients for specialty care. Duties Include screening all referrals for coverage, appropriateness, and medical necessity, calling for pre-certification when necessary, obtaining authorization if required for reimbursement, receiving telephone updates on patients specialty referrals/authorizations, sending specialty authorizations/notification letters and physician referral copy(s) to appropriate individuals in a timely manner, entering all appropriate referral information into the practice management system, performing routine filing duties and ensuring that the referral directory is up to date, receiving calls and educating/providing information to patients, office staff, providers and/or insurance companies.

Qualifications: • Education: Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Licensure/Certification: N/A

• Years of Experience: At least one year of experience in general office procedures and public contact.
