JOB DESCRIPTION:
Being a member of the Operational Risk Team, the Senior Associate will support the design and implementation of emerging risk framework and contribute to strong risk management practices across the enterprise.
The emerging risk framework is intended to build upon existing best practices and strengthen capabilities to navigate uncertainty, anticipate and prepare for possible adverse scenarios.
Working with the Emerging Risks Director, this role will collaborate with SMEs across the organization to compile and analyze data in support of the program's deliverables and executive / Board reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support execution against the implementation plan for the Emerging Risk Framework
Facilitate the sourcing, definition, evaluation, and recommendations for emerging risks
Support, and administer actions associated with emerging risks (e.g., scenario analysis, data collection, ongoing monitoring, etc.)
Work with GCRO staff and the business to resolve concerns related to the content and accuracy of information. Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers and stakeholders
Prepare information, reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors
Support development of policies, procedures, and other communications that support or advocate for the emerging risk framework. Maintain process documentation and adherence to internal procedures and protocols.
Stay current in evolving emerging risk trends, industry best practices, and regulatory expectations/requirements.
Participate in departmental initiatives that support mitigation of risk (e.g., use of emerging risk data to inform risk assessments, linking incidents and loss experience to emerging risks, etc.)
Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 7 years of related experience
Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
Advanced PowerPoint presentation creation skills
Advanced critical thinking and data analytics and data manipulation abilities
Knowledge of financial services, clearing corporations/depository function, brokerage operations, and associated regulatory requirements a plus
Familiarity with risk management, strategic planning, or scenario planning concepts
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate and adapt to a wide range of stakeholder work styles and leverage different approaches to achieving desired outcomes
