Human Resources/Administrative Assistant

Engineering Services Group, Inc. is a multi-disciplined Engineering firm, providing services in the fields of Consulting Engineering, Construction Management, Program Management and Land Development. We specialize in Traffic, Transportation and Civil Engineering, and work frequently with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Toll and Highway Authority, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and various counties and municipalities. We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a:

Human Resources/Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, responding to questions about company policies, onboarding new employees and conducting the employee exit process, receiving and directing phone calls, benefits administration, open enrollment for current and new employees, researching new employment laws and practices, payroll coordination, operations assistance/word processing, researching projects and proposal processes, filing paperwork for various projects, applying for vendor prequalifications, attending project meetings, coordinating meetings, creating graphics, and building project teams. Candidates must be able and willing to assist in multiple administrative aspects in the office.

Required Skills:

· Adequate knowledge of HR principles and techniques

· Accuracy, reliability, confidentiality and attention to detail

· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

· Ability to deal effectively with employees, vendors and clients

· Understanding of technology and computer savvy

· Possess strong management and follow through skills

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Survey equipment lifting and transporting to job sites

The ideal candidate would also possess:

· Associates degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Management, Marketing or English

· Previous experience in a multifaceted Human Resources and administrative role

· Excellent problem solving skills

· the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks

· the ability to maintain confidentiality

· Strong interpersonal skills

Software:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is required

· Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Publisher and InDesign is preferable
