Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Technician to join our team. As a Nuclear Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of nuclear equipment and systems. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of nuclear facilities.
The Nuclear Medicine Technician administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures. Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology. Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures. Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
Duties:
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on nuclear equipment and systems
- Monitor and analyze data from nuclear processes and systems
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of nuclear instruments
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on nuclear equipment as needed
- Follow strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to support nuclear operations
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and findings
Skills:
- Strong understanding of nuclear physics principles and concepts
- Proficient in operating and maintaining nuclear equipment and instruments
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends or anomalies
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience working in a nuclear facility is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines governing nuclear operations
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances
