You will be responsible for overseeing the general practices of the Fabrication and Machine Shop in all aspects. You will work close with all Machine Shop, Fabrication, and Assembly employees to support them with a helpful attitude at all times. Keep communication lines between all departments flowing well and without conflict. If conflict/issues arise, work with the Plant Manager to find out the root cause(s) and to also implement the best solution for the company with all involved.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Daily meetings with the Plant Manager and the Production Scheduler & Inventory
  Specialist to discuss workload, scheduling, and priorities.
• Create Machine Shop reports and also create ways to help all departments flow together in an efficient manner by also meeting customer expected delivery dates.
• Work with Assembly Manager and Shipping Manager to keep production flowing well.

• You will make sure that all job travelers and production control sheets are being completed properly and returned to Production Scheduler & Inventory Specialist and Plant Manager.
• Work with team to implement and maintain all Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Work with the Quality Manager/Engineering Tech/Lean Manager to accomplish continuous improvement.
• Build good communication lines between management and shop personnel.
• Create a team work environment between all departments. Encourage interdepartmental communication.
• Allocate available labor resources to areas needed to support the production schedule.
• Liason between Machine Shop and Fabrication employees to the Plant Manager and Process Planners.
• Keep MDI Boards current throughout both shops.
• Lead by example. Lead all employees to help each other and to be a part of the whole team.
• Prepare internal and corporate quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing trends for failed processes, and continuously work on new ways for better processes.
• Maintain organized work areas and storage areas in all buildings.
• Work with Plant Manager as personnel issues arise.
• Communicate with HR Manager regarding any recurring employee issues, encourage good employee morale, and help with employee meetings as necessary.

Job Requirements

• Lean Manufacturing experience. For example: MDI Boards, 5S, SMED, etc.
• Team Builder & Leader
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive manufacturing background.
• MS Office 365 – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
