Erie Neighborhood House is Hiring a Manager of Institutional Giving Near Chicago, IL

Description

Reporting to and working with the Senior Director of Development and Communications, the Manager of Institutional Giving is a strategic thought partner of the Development and Communications team who oversees the agency’s entire grants program by developing and implementing an institutional giving strategy to advance the mission of Erie House. 

The Manager of Institutional Giving is responsible for generating revenue from private institutions (including but not limited to foundations, corporations, congregations by establishing and maintaining partnerships and relationships, and supporting Programs with public funding opportunities. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and manage institutional giving strategy; conduct institutional giving analysis and align with program need. 
  • Develop and manage metrics to measure progress. 
  • Develop and manage institutional funding projections and generate reports on progress. 
  • Manage internal processes as outlined in Grants Procedures; conducting yearly review and amending Grants Procedures as necessary. 
  • Relationship manager of all institutional funders, including and not limited to, leading site visits and preparing staff for funder meetings. 
  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of top institutional donors. 
  • Oversees grants calendars for deadlines and relationships, in collaboration with Grant Writer. 
  • Serve as lead reviewer and facilitator of all RFPs, public and private, from identification of prospect to submission. 
  • Facilitate program and budget development in partnership with Program and Finance staff. 
  • Serve as reviewer of all proposals and reports prior to submission. 
  • Serve as Development and Communications Department liaison during Programs budgeting process. 
  • Assist with preparation of monthly grants report. 
  • Maintain input of institutional giving activities into Neon CRM. 
  • Develop institutional funder communications for, but not limited to, Senior Director of Development and Communications and Executive Director. 
  • Represents Erie House at agency and other events, as necessary or required; mandatory attendance at annual dinner and at least one other Development and Communications event
  • Other duties as assigned. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage and partner with Grant Writers, including but not limited to the preparation of proposals and reports. 
  • Communicate Institutional Giving strategy. 
  • Establish goals based on strategy and opportunities of growth. 
  • Conduct weekly meetings. 
  • Monitor and evaluate goals; conduct yearly reviews. 

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience Required: 

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in grant fundraising or research. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with superior proofreading skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strategic thinker and proven ability to handle confidential information. 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to create and manage large volumes of work. Skilled project manager. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the best practices of grant preparation and administration. 
  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with local and national foundation funding communities. 
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining relationships with donors. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and research databases. 
  • Experience creating grant budgets and financial reports for funders. 
  • Experience as a manager. 
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
