Position: Manager of Institutional Giving 

The Manager of Institutional Giving is a salaried, exempt position that reports to the Director of Development. The Manager of Institutional Giving is responsible for raising funds by submitting high quality grant applications and reports and maintaining strong relationships with current and potential institutional funders. 

Salary and Benefits Information

The salary range for this position is $77,000 - $84,000, commensurate with experience and skills. Essential Duties 

  • Work with the Director of Development to raise at least the budgeted amount from funders each year (A4CB’s 2024 annual budget is $9.4M; the 2024 goal for our Development team is to raise $6.7M. For context, the Development team raised $7M in 2023.) 
  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective institutional funders, including corporations, foundations, and other types of donors who invest in our work 
  • Prepare high quality proposals and reports and deliver pitches to current and prospective institutional funders

Detailed Responsibilities 

  • Submit high quality grant applications and reports on time 
  • Build new relationships with institutions that will provide donations
  • Collaborate with staff across other departments to gather data and content for grant materials, proposals, and reports 
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of our organization’s history and programs 
  • Secure sponsorships for A4CB’s annual fundraiser event
  • Maintain detailed, organized funder records 
  • Deliver clear messages for who we serve, the value we provide, and how we deliver that value effectively 
  • Promote the organization’s work at events and site visits that focus on fundraising or visibility 
  • Work from the A4CB office each Wednesday and on other days as agreed upon with the Director of Development 
  • Perform other duties flexibly and creatively as needs arise 

Requirements

Qualifications 

A4CB requires its staff to:

  • Collaborate flexibly with colleagues in a diverse and changing environment 
  • Believe strongly in A4CB’s vision and mission 

The Manager of Institutional Giving should have: 

  • Excellent writing skills 
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of grant proposal writing 
  • Strong research skills 
  • 5-7 years of experience raising funds from institutions 
  • 5-7 years of experience researching, articulating, formatting, and presenting compelling donor appeals 
  • Experience using technology to manage data related to potential and past donors 
  • Experience writing government grant applications is a plus
