Equus Management is Hiring an Assistant Community Manager Near Reno, NV

Equus Management Group is looking for a full-time Assistant to the General Manager to join our family at our Sierra Canyon Location. The perfect candidate is outgoing, a multitasker, and enjoys a fun and a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The Assistant to the General Manager is responsible for the management and support of the community and association. Including, but not limited to: daily operations, regular interaction with and support of club members/homeowners/vendors, and staff. The Assistant to the General Manager provides direct support to the Committee Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Hiring new employees, providing management, training, and scheduling

The successful candidate must possess the following attributes and skills:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the operation in a positive, effective forward path.
  • Reading and reporting on the financial statement
  • Monitoring the budget and forecasting the income and expenses monthly looking forward
  • Assisting in seeking viable bids, preparing the applications, etc. and presenting the options to the Board
  • Assist in evaluating current policies to see if they comply with governing documents and state law, are effective or need to be updated or extinguished.
  • Communicating with homeowners regarding the architectural guidelines committee decisions.
  • Assists the Community Manager in planning, coordinating, and evaluating the services and activities of all HOA departments and programs; manages and directs the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, programs, policies, systems, and practices to achieve annual goals
  • Oversees and directs a variety of special projects; facilitates, and homeowner architectural changes with the committee and resolves issues and challenges as they arise.
  • Assesses and monitors workload, administrative, and support systems, and internal reporting relationships for assigned areas of responsibility; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs and implements changes
  • Directs and evaluates the performance of assigned staffs; takes disciplinary action, up to and including termination, to address performance deficiencies, in accordance with the rules and policies
  • Directs and participates in the development of the operating budgets for assigned departments
  • Directs and oversees the preparation of a wide variety of reports and presentations for the Board of Directors
  • Responds to difficult and sensitive public inquires and complaints and assists with resolutions and alternative recommendations
  • Acts as the Community Manager in the absence of the Community Manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Very effective organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • E-mail at a high proficiency level and type a minimum of 40 wpm

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in association management or equivalent.
  • Experience working with HOA's and boards.
  • CMCA -Certified Manager of Community Associations or PCAM -Professional Community Association Manager Certification preferred but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
