Equity Packaging, Inc. is Hiring a Sr. Mold Maker / Shop Manager Near Los Angeles, CA
Duties and Responsibilities:Precise / Equity Packaging is looking for talented and driven candidates to support the growing business of Mold and Tooling Management, Development, and Repair. The Sr. Mold Maker / Shop Manager oversees all tooling activities including mold design, mold making, insert making, and mold repair. The Sr. Mold Maker/ Shop Manager may also design, build and repair molds and equipment. The Sr. Mold Maker / Shop Manager performs these activities.
Operates all tooling department equipment;
Designs and builds custom molds – reviews mold design prior to cutting;
Repairs customer molds - prioritizes the repair backlog;
Troubleshoots customer mold issues and works with Engineering to resolve problems;
Inspects machined inserts - prioritizes the insert cutting backlog;
Maintains tooling equipment;
Follows and enforces safety rules;
Supports production operations through the timely completion of the above activities.
Visits Customer facilities when necessary to diagnose mold related issues
Performs Mold / Tool Audits at Customer facilities
The tooling supervisor is responsible for these functions:All tooling operations, organization, and improvement.
Troubleshoots molding issues and makes recommendations to production and engineering to rectify issues with molds and/or molding process.
Perform other duties as required by Upper Management.
Qualifications:
8 years as a machinist, programmer, or shop supervisor preferred.
Proficiency in Solidworks and Mastercam required, minimum 5 years preferred.
Comparable combinations of training and experience may be considered.
Supervisory or managerial experience in a machine shop setting
Strong ability to use independent judgment in determining methods and processes
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, work methods, and production flow
Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and document.
Travel required to Latin America.
Bilingual in Spanish & English language will be plus or preferred.
