As an Activities Assistant you can expect to:
In conjunction with supervisor, team members and residents, assists in planning, implementing, leading and evaluating the activity programs of assigned communities to help in meeting the needs of our residents. Works with supervisor and Transportation Coordinator in the planning of monthly trips. Encourages resident participation in activities within individual capabilities.
Welcomes new residents and encourages them to engage with activities that appeal to them as they are able.
Provides calendar of planned events to Volunteer Coordinator and Activities & Volunteer Supervisor.
Ensures that the appropriate management team members are informed and current on scheduled plans and events, and encourages all team members to participate in and assist with large gatherings.
Provides outstanding customer service to all customers in accordance with ERS’s expectations and values.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word preferred.
Some experience working with the senior or aging population recommended; has a passion to work with elders.
Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. May push residents in wheelchairs as needed.
Is able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language; has the ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Is able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.
