Culinary Manager

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota is a leader in senior care services for 130 years. We offer homes and services for people in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Care centers in the Midway area of St. Paul. We complement our homes with a home care service, foundation, a management company and a robust campus life program that provides a fitness center, pool, theater, 1st class dining room, pub and special events.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full Time: 40 Hours. typical work week is Monday through Friday and occasional weekend

Salary: starting from $55,000yr , experience compensated!!!

Job Summary:

Performs food preparation and production tasks efficiently and accurately under direction of Culinary Director and/or Executive Chef. Consistently follows safe food handling policies and procedures, recipes, and plating instructions, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees food preparation according to diet extension recipes and food production sheets.
  • Ensure kitchen sanitation by monitoring and following through with daily/weekly/monthly cleaning tasks per the posted cleaning list(s).
  • Effectively supervises staff in assigned kitchen(s), including scheduling, and corrective actions.
  • Assures that all food and supplies are ordered or available for upcoming service periods. Alerts cooks/staff to any shortages and makes arrangements to provide missing items or alternatives.
  • Daily walk through of households, monitoring freezer and coolers temperatures, check for wet pans, chemical closets and basic sanitation.
  • Attends food service meetings with residents, records feedback, and acts upon issues in a timely manner.

Culinary Manager Qualifications/Skills:

  • People management, fostering teamwork, and giving feedback
  • Planning and multi-tasking
  • Developing budgets
  • Conflict resolution

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior food production experience, preferably in restaurant / healthcare facility.
  • Must be able to fulfill all facility hiring practices.
  • ServSafe Certified or must obtain within 6 months.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
