Episcopal Day seeks a Director of Auxiliary Programs for our Pre-Kindergarten - 8th grade auxiliary programming. The Director of Auxiliary Programs is responsible for the design, operations, and management of the extended day and school break programs at Episcopal Day. The Director works closely with the Academic Program Team to develop engaging, high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences in the extended day and during school breaks. The Director is responsible for the MAP (Mustang Afterschool Program) budget, and manages the MAP staff. The Director serves as the point of contact for families, faculty, and vendors for all programming outside the regular school day, and is the primary manager of campus activities outside of regular school hours.

This is a 10-month (August - June), full-time, salaried position. Hours are from generally 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some varied hours for special school events.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive vision for Episcopal Day’s auxiliary programs.
  • Supervising all MAP staff at both the Charles House and Baldwin campuses
  • Collaborating closely with the Division Directors to ensure seamless consistency between the school day and auxiliary programs.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and hiring of all MAP staff
  • Develop and maintain a pool of on-call MAP substitutes and ensure appropriate staffing and ratios for the MAP program during periods of staff absences
  • In conjunction with the Business Office, managing program registration and billing
  • Serving as the lead contact with parents regarding program offerings and day-to-day communication
  • With the support of the MAP staff, managing the activities and movement of children until the program day ends at 6:00 p.m., including staffing the front desk from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

  • Practical time management skills with the ability to manage, organize, and prioritize work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Suite) accompanied by a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong initiative, internal motivation, and a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly define.

Qualifications and Salary:

  • Experience working within an educational or youth development setting with Pre-Kindergarten - 8th grade children
  • Experience in coordinating youth programming preferred
  • Early Childhood Education units preferred
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Work is in an active, fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and various contacts.
  • Must be able to move safely and comfortably over a large campus regularly.
  • May work at a desk and computer and stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment and outside in weather ranging from cold and wet to hot (80 degrees).
  • Ability to safely and occasionally life up to 30 lbs. And regularly life up to 10 lbs.
  • Regularly sit, talk, walk, hear and interact with students, parents, staff and visitors.
  • Regularly use close and distance vision.
  • Turn, bend, reach and occasionally use a step ladder.
  • Must comply with all state vaccination requirements, including, but not limited to COVID-19 or proof of eligibility for exemption.

The salary range for the position is $70,000 - $82,000 per year (10 months), depending on personal qualifications and experience.
