Epiroc Drilling Solutions LLC is Hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer Near Garland, TX

Staff Electrical Engineers play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing and marketing activities. They are responsible for designing and developing components, systems, and new products to meet customer and market demands.

As a Staff Electrical Engineer at Epiroc, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing the future of open-pit mining drills in our world-class facility. Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop innovative concepts to enhance drill rig functionality and efficiency
  • Manage modifications to existing AC and DC electrical systems on drilling rigs
  • Provide design solutions for both low and high-voltage electrical systems
  • Collaborate directly with suppliers to transform your designs from concept to finished products
  • Work alongside engineering technicians to construct and conduct engineering tests in a full-scale laboratory
  • Take ownership of 3D CAD design and detailed drawings for parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software
  • Execute the release of engineering changes through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
  • Offer technical support to various departments, including production, planning, sourcing, quality, marketing, service, and aftermarket
  • Engage in close collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure that designs align with technical and business objectives
  • Perform technical calculations and analysis to validate design decisions
  • Adhere to relevant standards throughout the design process

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in, or a strong desire to become proficient in, PTC Creo Parametric or equivalent 3D CAD software
  • Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, such as Siemens Teamcenter or equivalent
  • Understanding of DC and AC calculations
  • Exposure to heavy equipment manufacturing in industries like mining, construction, or agriculture
  • Ability to compile and present technical data in a clear and concise manner
  • Fundamental comprehension of the component theory of operation
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
