Job Title: Clinical Applications Specialist – Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

Work Mode: Field Based

Appointment: 1099 Independent Consultant (Contract)

We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Applications Specialist (CAS) in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, USA that is a problem-solver and quick-thinker. In this role, you will work with the Clinical Operations team to successfully execute the world’s largest medical device clinical trial in the field of peripheral nerve injuries. You will report directly to the Clinical Research Manager and will be an ambassador for Epineuron and its values at your assigned clinical trial sites.

The CAS will be an expert in the implementation of Epineuron’s technology and the clinical trial. You will be responsible for training and educating clinical trial site staff on the protocol and correct use of Epineuron’s technology, providing real-time on-site support during surgeries, and will act as a channel to inform future product development. This position is field-based covering the Dallas-Fort Worth area but will be expected to travel to other USA clinical sites as needed. The role requires 90% travel, including occasional overnight stays.

Summary of Responsibilities

• The expert in standard surgical practices and trends in peripheral nerve repair.
• Ensure compliance of technology use and clinical trial activities according to relevant standards, requirements, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide on-call technical support, troubleshooting, and other technical assistance to surgeons and other clinical trials personnel.
• Execute clinical education and training programs for clinical trial site surgeons and support staff on technical and clinical study matters through:

-One-on-one training sessions

-In-servicing education programs

-Seminars and lunch & learn sessions

• Collect information regarding new and existing products in nerve repair and monitor competitor product use, sales, and prices.
• Provide R&D support through the communication of clinicians and hospital personnel feedback on product enhancements or new product development ideas.
• Record and report all device-related complaints to Epineuron.
• Provide insights and feedback to the Epineuron clinical team regarding clinical site dynamics, contextual know-how of product use, and areas of improvement to enhance site enrollment and execution of study protocol.
• Interact with R&D to represent customer/clinician perspective to provide input on product innovation and invention.

Job Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science, biomedical engineering, and/or health-related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of previous industry experience with at least 2 years of experience in a field clinical role.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage with a diverse set of external stakeholders.
• Ability to learn quickly and master concepts of a medical and surgical nature and active medical device technology.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Independent, self-motivated, self-starter.
• Proficient in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Able to travel within the USA.
• In possession of a valid driver’s license in good standing
• Access to a personal vehicle required for business use; car allowance provided.

Preferred

• 5 years of experience in medical device industry and/or clinical experience with medical devices.
• Experience with products for neurostimulation, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, microsurgery, orthopedic surgery, and/or ENT.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Proven track record with technical training and support is as asset.

Anticipated Start Date: May 2024

Compensation commensurate with experience.

Schedule:

• On call
• Occasional work after-hours and/or on weekends, depending on surgical case schedules.
• 90% travel (primarily in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas); occasional travel to other USA clinical sites.
• Expected 20-40 hours per month.
