We are seeking a motivated and experienced Rail Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of railroad hazmat and environmental regulations, as well as experience with environmental compliance, emergency response and the waste management industry. The Account Manager will be responsible for generating new leads, prospecting for potential customers, and closing deals. He or she will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our existing clients.Responsibilities:Generate new leads through existing connections face to face meetings, email marketing, and attending industry eventsStay current in railroad initiatives and planned environmental jobsProspect for potential customers by researching companies in the railroad and waste management industriesClose deals by negotiating contracts and pricingProvide exceptional customer service to existing clientsPrepare and present sales proposalsTrack sales performance and meet sales goalsDevelop and maintain relationships with new and existing customersProvide technical support to customersFrom time to time be at the initial startup of larger/complex rail projectsBe a resource to Operations as well as H&S on projects outside normal scopeMaintain a deep understanding of railroad hazmat/environmental & waste regulationsAttend industry events and conferencesStay up-to-date on industry trends and regulationsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in business administration, environmental science, or a related field or commensurate work experience10 years of experience in sales, preferably in the railroad or waste management industriesStrong understanding of railroad hazmat and environmental regulationsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsDeep understanding of the sales cycleExcellent ability to track on going projects and lend assistance as neededProven track record of success in generating leads and closing dealsResponsibilities:Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customersGenerate sales leads and close dealsProvide technical support to customersAttend industry events and conferencesStay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations
