Water Resources Managing Director

 ECT seeks to appoint a water resources executive to lead and grow its national water resources division. This professional will lead the firm’s second-largest group, currently providing services across water resources expertise areas including: ecosystem restoration, green stormwater management, water quality and consulting. The team is comprised of scientists, engineers, and consulting professionals servicing clients in the power & energy, municipal, federal, and land development markets concentrated mostly in the Eastern US. 

 The ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess a strong knowledge of the water resources market, with predominant working experience within the Eastern US. Through the interview process, the expectation would be that candidates will gain an understanding of ECT and then collaboratively present their vision for the Water Resources team within their market access and knowledge, personal experience, and network, and with respect to the water resource demands and opportunities today. 

 Responsibilities of the Managing Director role include:

• Participating on the firms’ leadership team supporting the growth and performance of the organization. 
• Representing ECT with clients and stakeholders, as well as industry and market environments.
• Developing annual business plans and delivering the metrics associated with the division. 
• Supporting daily operations and a team of divisional directors in the Midwest and Southeast. 
• Profitable growth of existing P&L.
• Generating client and revenue opportunities leveraging existing networks and expertise. 
• Ability to travel regularly within Eastern and Central US; at times, this may result in travel 2-4 times per month at times.

 Ideal attributes of the Managing Director include:

• Strong knowledge of the Eastern US and national water markets with demonstrated operational and business development successes.
• Demonstrated experience in leading high-performance consulting teams and/or division. 
• Consulting successes in the public and private sectors, including federal markets.
• Growth mindset and a strong desire to growth the division in terms of revenue, capabilities, talent, and opportunity. 
• Passion for building solutions and programs to help clients meet the opportunities and challenges such as climate adaptation, resilient infrastructure, and water resources. 
• Preferred experience with managing a P&L, with 5-10 years of experience in this area.
• Collaborative leadership style that accommodates both tenured and junior team members.
• Technical consulting background with a minimum of 5-10 years operations experience. 
• Residence in the Eastern US, preferred locations include Michigan, Carolinas, and Florida. 
• Bachelor’s degree in related science or engineering field; secondary technical or business degree appreciated.
