Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc is Hiring a Site Assessor Near Ann Arbor, MI

Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), seeks a dynamic, early career professional to join our Site Assessment & Remediation (SAR) service line. The ideal candidate will support the national due diligence team with Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest projects. Projects primarily focus on renewable energy development and involve environmental site assessments, field surveys, technical research at agency offices, and other technical reporting and field support.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), various remediation/monitoring projects, and other environmental studies (e.g., ecological field surveys, desktop studies).
  • Maintain field equipment and take complete, accurate, and legible field notes to document field activities and site conditions.
  • Prepare, review, proofread, and modify technical environmental reports and proposals with direction and oversight. 
  • Conduct telephone and/or email interviews with property owners, occupants, key site personnel, and federal, state, and local government officials to obtain information concerning the environmental conditions related to a property.
  • Recognize and identify environmental issues in the field and/or based on information provided by the research and interviews.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences
  • 3 years of experience conducting Phase I ESAs in rural or commercial settings
  • Familiarity with large property reconnaissance methodologies
  • Aquatic resources delineation and/or species survey experience a plus

Job Requirements:

  • Long days and occasional travel (20%-40%) throughout the U.S. via car and occasional flights. 
  • Ability to work independently and learn primarily through verbal instruction, training, reading, researching and observation in an on-the-job setting.
  • Knowledge of Phase I and II ESAs, critical issues analysis, site characterization studies, and similar environmental studies.
