ESS-052 Job Title: Project Manager/Estimator Location: Cincinnati, OH Environmental & Safety Solutions is seeking a full time, responsible, and hardworking construction estimator to join our growing team! Job Responsibilities
Report to Owner / Project Managers while leading and working with fellow team members
Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders (i.e., Project Managers, Design Professionals, and Clients) to understand intent, actively follow up and through with strong sales and customer service
Identify and generate bids proposals, compile estimates, monitor construction costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, manage historical cost & production data for future estimates, while staying abreast of industry trends and issues.
Proven experience and understanding of heavy / civil construction in the market and geographical coverage area. operation of a variety of heavy equipment (including but not limited to excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, compactors, articulating dump trucks, dump trucks, etc.), in accordance with manufacturers specifications, industry standards, safe operating procedures, etc.
Follow all applicable plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, work / change orders and safety procedures for projects, report concerns, opportunities, and variations immediately to management
Various other duties as required and/or directed
Job Requirements
Willingness to communicate effectively both written and verbal
Ability to enter and extrapolate information into & from software system to generate bids, reports, analysis, etc.
Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation to and from job site(s)
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, sit for extended periods, reach, grasp and lift 50 lbs. – regularly
Ability to pass pre-employment, annual, and potential random drug tests
Additional Skills & Qualifications
5 years’ experience in similar / related field, successfully completing assigned projects
BS Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent (preferred)
Willingness to put in the additional time and effort to get bids submitted
Ability to read construction plans, specifications, addenda, etc.
Ability to learn / use computer software for tracking and productivity
Prior Site Work and Underground Utility experience is a plus
Ability to give / take direction, foresee, understand, and communicate issues effectively and timely
Experience w/Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, and View point software
Compensation
Salary range commensurate with experience (typically $60,000 - $95,000)
