Job description
The Class A Driver is responsible for operating Low Boy Truck/Trailer at Environmental Allies job sites. They are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip, and unload/unload construction equipment from the trailer to the job site. These drivers also follow appropriate safety procedures to transport cargo and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours.
This position guarantees 40 hours a week and the opportunity for overtime. Duties & Responsibilities
· Operate New Low Boy Tractor/Trailer
· Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
· Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
· Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
· Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
· Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
· Report vehicle maintenance and all repairs to the warehouse mechanic.
Qualifications / Competencies
· High school diploma or GED.
· 3 years’ experience Lowboy truck & trailer
· Class A Drivers’ License
