What is the opportunity?

Entuitive is looking for a Structural Engineer - Transportation at all levels from Junior to Senior. Based in the New York office and reporting to the Project Principal, the Structural Engineer - Transportation will primarily focus on structural design and analysis with an emphasis towards transportation structures. This role may also include aspects of project delivery, project management, production of structural documents, and construction administration. The Structural Engineer - Transportation will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture.

What will you do?

• Responsible for the designing and detailing of structural elements related to transportation structures, including design and calculations, computer modelling, and analysis.
• Assembling engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our technologists and other members of the engineering team.
• Supports/delivers projects from initial conception through completion within scope, on budget and on schedule.
• Supports/monitors objectives related to engineering, design standards/design review, technical specifications, document control, budget and work breakdown structures, project schedules, resource prioritization, and staffing requirements.
• Leads or attends client meetings facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates.
• Assisting more junior and intermediate designers/engineers in the technical aspects of design and the practical aspects of assembling contract documents. (where applicable)
• Provide technical expertise and support on various projects in order to ensure a high level of service, including development of structural concepts and methodology, value engineering, evaluation of structural systems, and quality review of structural production.
• Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time.

What do you need to succeed?

• An engineering degree with a focus on civil and structural engineering.
• Must have or be working towards a professional engineering license in the State of New York.
• Demonstrated work experience in structural engineering consulting.
• Experience with transportation structures and transportation agencies in large metropolitan centers, specifically the New York region, preferred.
• Knowledge of the appropriate building codes.
• Knowledge of transit agency standards is considered an asset.
• Experience with State of Good Repair projects is considered an asset.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
• Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel and structural analysis software (SAFE, SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.

Compensation

The range for this position is between $65,000 to $130,000 annually and based upon experience, qualifications, location, and education. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York.
