We are currently seeking an Indirect Technology Sourcing Category Manager to join our Supply Chain Management Team.
Position can be located anywhere in the US with travel to headquarters as needed.
Responsible for performing strategic evaluations of managed indirect technology and information security spend categories, managing business requirements, volumes of spend, composition of supplier base, and negotiation of commercial contract terms. Identifies and implements strategic cost savings opportunities for the business. Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for the business / functions, including but not limited to executing sourcing events (RFXs, commercial terms negotiations) based on a defined strategy. Uses analysis to make informed, actionable recommendations to the business / functions (e.g., cost reduction strategies). The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline and supplier management, strategic sourcing, contracting, spend analysis or other directly related experience. The right candidate will have project management and task coordination skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains long term technology and information security category business plans in partnership with the business units / internal clients, creating a strategic supplier solution roadmap.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with business units / internal clients to implement, maintain, and refresh sourcing strategy for assigned categories/suppliers that address internal client’s supplier product / service needs.
  • Analyze spend data, internal requirements, and external supply markets to help develop strategic sourcing and negotiation strategies and plans aligned with the business goals.
  • Meet with Senior Executives to collaborate on and present sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Execute sourcing events (RFP, RFI, reverse auctions, etc.) based on the sourcing strategy.
  • Collaborate in problem solving across departments; use measurement and analysis to make informed, actionable business recommendations.
  • Research and monitor competitive landscape, market conditions and changes in the industry that may impact managed categories.
  • Benchmark commercial terms allowing for underlying cost and value analysis to support negotiations.
  • Oversee commercial contract terms negotiations with suppliers.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for the business unit / internal client and suppliers on the Zions’ Supply Chain Management process.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline and supplier management, strategic sourcing, contracting or other directly related experience.
  • 8 years of technology supplier management, strategic sourcing, contracting, negotiation or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
  • Demonstrate successful sourcing, contracting and negotiation experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute/problem solve tactical issues.
  • Results oriented self-starter with high energy level.
  • Proven negotiation and problem resolution skills; with a positive attitude focused on win/win solutions.
Necessary Skills:
  • Knowledge of supplier management, supplier relations, legal contracts, contract negotiations and service agreements.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing processes and practices, including industry and supplier marketplace analysis.
  • Project management and task coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • Analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate high degree of initiative and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and navigate in a broader business environment.
  • Must have interpersonal skills, and the ability to help negotiate priorities, and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as relationship owners, suppliers, and internal groups).
  • Must have customer focus and ability to work in geographically dispersed team.
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $130,000 - $150,000 bonus depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.
