Job Description: Entera Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our hospice care team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospice care, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field. This position requires a dedicated individual who can manage nursing staff, ensure the highest quality of care for our patients, and oversee the training and continuing education of new hires.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the hospice nursing department.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.
• Conduct regular audits to maintain high standards of care and compliance.
• Provide on-field assistance and support to nursing staff as needed, including on-call duties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and update patient care plans.
• Mentor and train nursing staff to enhance their professional development.
• Manage budget and resources effectively to meet the needs of the department.
• Develop and implement training programs for continuing education of the nursing staff.
• Supervise and coordinate the orientation of new hires.
• Report directly to the facility administrator.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and BSN degree; MSN preferred.
• Extensive experience in hospice care (minimum 3-5 years).
• In-depth knowledge of hospice audits, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients and families.
