Summary: Seeking a Fabrication Technician to process and fabricate germanium and silicon-based crystals for radiation detection sensors, involving chemical handling and basic machining.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to measure with precision
• Knowledge of the metric system
• Proficiency in basic algebra
• Capability to handle chemicals following safety procedures
• Skilled in setting up and operating machinery
• Understanding of basic electrical concepts
• Must be able to remain standing for prolonged periods

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with detailed inspection processes
• Familiarity with using microscopes for inspection tasks

Job Responsibilities:

• Shape, polish, and perform chemical etching on germanium crystals using acids
• Conduct electroplating of crystal surfaces
• Inspect crystal surfaces for any damage or imperfections
• Maintain equipment and machinery, ensuring proper functioning
• Record data accurately and maintain detailed records of maintenance tasks
• Assist in regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and availability of materials
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
• Operate ion implanter and vacuum deposition equipment under supervision
• Test finished crystals under supervision to ensure quality standards are met
