We are currently seeking a resourceful, pragmatic, forward thinking and relational People Managerto join our expanding team.

The on target earning potential for this role is £43,500 annual salary - comprising a base salary of £40,000, plus a qualified estimate of £3,500 in gratuities and service charge. * As a member of the Gleneagles team, you will also enjoy a fantastic range of perks, benefits and rewards.

The People & Culture team are on an exciting journey. We’re busy building a people function where we truly put people, and their experience, at the heart of everything we design, build, and deliver. Supporting and enabling the business to make sound people decisions for our workforce of approximately 1,350 is therefore central to the role of the People Partner.

This is a hybrid role that will based at the Gleneagles Townhouse, involve very occasional visits to Gleneagles in Perthshire, but with the space to work from home too. Autonomous and flexible, it’s about being where you need to be, when you need to be there and making sure your presence and impact is felt by your stakeholders.

Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:

  • You’ll be bringing our People strategy to life with a relentless focus on elevating the employee experience and ensuring that our people feel as valued as our guests
  • Day to day you’ll be coaching and advising our People Leaders on the full spectrum of people related /employee relations matters, ensuring they have the confidence and capability to effectively support our people. Together you’ll continue building a positive, inclusive, and engaging culture for our c.170 strong Townhouse team.
  • Developing strong, collaborative, and effective working relationships with People Leaders across the business, you’ll develop a good understand of the support they require to deliver consistently on their people promises
  • As a member of the People Operations team, you will be focused on delivering the beautiful basics brilliantly, offering a high quality, systematic and integrated service to our People Leaders and our people. You’ll be working closely with our Head of People Ops, People Partner, People Advisor, People Co-ordinator, Payroll & Benefits Manager and Occupational Health Advisor, all of whom work together in an integrated way to respond to the needs of our people.
  • As the People Lead for Gleneagles Townhouse, you’ll be the ‘boots on the ground’ for a much larger team of People experts at Gleneagles, pulling on the know-how and support of a wider team which encompasses not just People Operations but also Talent Attraction, Organisational Development, Communication & Engagement
  • You’ll be working collaboratively with the wider People Team ensuring that the roll-out of new products, processes and ways of working are aligned to the needs of the Townhouse and are well embedded into the team’s routines and practices.
  • As the Townhouse custodian of our ‘Moments that Matter’ framework, you’ll be making thoughtful decisions to ensure that when our people need our support, we’re there to catch them, embedding a fair and consistent approach across the property
  • Collaborating with the Talent Attraction Team, you’ll be onboarding new team members into the business and working with our People Leaders to ensure their -2 week to 90-day journey sets them up for success
  • Interrogating people data to identify the key drivers of engagement and retention, you will be the project owner of key People initiatives that drive lasting change and further elevate the employee experience
  • You’ll support on the design and delivery of regular culture clinics which build people leader confidence and capability in our key people priorities and core people processes
  • Supporting Organisational Development in the activation of our early career strategies, the consistent adoption of performance and development conversations and the co-ordination of all learning and development priorities, you’ll find yourself involved in a diverse range of culture enhancing projects and deliverables
  • Ensuring our core values are always upheld, you’ll be challenging behaviours that are inconsistent with this from front line to leadership, whilst living these yourself
  • Interacting with our people, you’ll be relentlessly warm, professional, helpful, and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations
The kind of person we're looking for:
  • CIPD qualified, you have high learning agility and an interest in continuous professional development.
  • You’re likely to be operating in a generalist role, either an HR/People Partner or experienced HR Manager in a high paced, operationally minded business.
  • You have a proven track record of juggling People Leader demands and case work with people related projects. As such, you’re completely au fait with managing the conflicting needs of reactive and proactive priorities
  • You’re self-driven and able to work autonomously, but also recognise the accountability you have (as a member of the People Team) for being a strong custodian of our values and brand
  • Through a positive and proactive attitude, you build internal relationships by truly understanding what your stakeholders need and by fulfilling your promises
  • You understand where policy ends, and judgement and intuition start. You understand the importance of creating a great employee experience, even when we’re sharing bad news
  • With strong analytical skills, you’re able to extract meaningful insight from data, convey it with clarity and ensure it informs priorities and action
  • Driven by a desire to ensure your work makes a difference and has an enduring impact, it’s a matter of personal pride that each new People initiative maximises value and return
