England Industial is Hiring a Construction Bookkeeper and Office Manager Near Covington, WA

England Industrial is a steel erection company owned by a hardworking husband and wife team. We specialize in ornamental and structural steelwork as well as glazing. Members of Local 86, Local 188, and the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

The volume of transactions in the business can have a direct impact on the workload for this position. You must be able to deal with volume fluctuations and handle interruptions to manage deadlines and ensure that the duties of this position are completed accurately. You must be self-motivated and capable of learning and adapting to new expectations. There will be times we embark on new areas for our entire company as we continue to grow, and we need someone willing to do research and learn those new areas with us.

Position Overview:

As a Bookkeeper & Office Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office and financial functions. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, administrative tasks, computer file structure, and management as well as contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
  • Monthly reporting to all unions, and the Labor and Industry of wages and hours.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
  • Oversee procurement activities, including vendor management and purchase order processing.
  • Manage document control including contracts, permits, and change orders.
  • Update Knowify with accounting information for tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as managing correspondence and maintaining office records.
  • Human resources functions such as employee onboarding, capabilities and certificate tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping and office management roles or show equal competency.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in the construction industry or related field.
  • Knowify experience is desired but not expected (we can train).

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00

  • Occasional weekend phone calls will be needed.

  • Yearly bonus (based on company performance).
