Position Summary:

The Reliability Engineer will be enhancing the safety, dependability, and efficiency of plant fixed and rotating equipment. This position will leverage engineering expertise to address maintenance, performance, and operational challenges, focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance processes across two sites in Geismar and one in St. Charles.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and assist in troubleshooting mechanical equipment to enhance plant safety, reliability, and performance.
• Drive the establishment and enforcement of standard practices for preventive and predictive maintenance processes at designated sites and maintenance procedures and PM schedules to enhance equipment performance and reliability while minimizing repair expenses.
• Develop and oversee inspections, preventive maintenance (PM), and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs for mechanical equipment.
• Ensure the effectiveness of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and optimize spare parts availability.
• Lead initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime, discovery work, and recurring events, aiming to decrease overall lifecycle costs and boost operating profit.
• Perform failure analysis and Root Cause Analyses (RCA) on equipment failures, devising and implementing corrective actions while monitoring their effectiveness.
• Review predictive program results (e.g., oil analysis, vibration routes) to assess equipment health, predict failures, and optimize maintenance intervals.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in PM and PdM programs and techniques to enhance equipment reliability.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Engage with all levels of the organization to drive reliability improvements.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Hydrogen Producing Facility.
• Certification from the Vibration Institute.
• Training in MHM database management.
• International Council for Machinery Lubrication Level 1 certification.
• Infrared training.
