POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Plant superintendent to join our team in Greenville, SC. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility while coordinating closely with production and management at our additional facility located within the same city. The Plant Superintendent’s primary responsibility will be to manage employees and ensure that production meets quality standards. Additionally, this candidate will coordinate with various departments to optimize operations, manage safety programs, conduct audits, and implement process improvements. Strong leadership and creative problem-solving will be essential in driving efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining high safety standards while meeting production goals. At Engineered Products, safety is paramount, so this role demands a keen adherence to safety regulations and guidelines while maintaining product quality.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and work with supervisors and team leads to coordinate workers' activities in all phases of plant operations.
  • Develop and manage production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals.
  • Utilize operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals.
  • Troubleshoot operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinate solutions.
  • Implement plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management, scheduling, shipping, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage day-to-day operations on the plant floor and enforce safety procedures.
  • Review production records to ensure performance expectations are met and coordinate with corporate management for necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, quality control, and production planning to optimize operations.
  • Conduct routine safety checks on equipment.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to identify and fill staffing needs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION
AND/OR TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent, preferably.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related area as an individual contributor, with 3 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of plant operations, safety standards, and department processes.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds at a time.
