ENGIE is Hiring an Environmental, Health, & Safety Trainee Near Boston, MA

The Environmental, Health, & Safety Trainee will assist the Environmental Health and Safety Manager with all aspects of developing and managing Environmental Health and Safety programs pertaining to OSHA regulations and state and federal environmental requirements, including confined space entry, crane safety, electrical safety, fall protection and ladder safety, noise, and emergency response, etc. as well as environmental programs involving air, water, and hazardous waste requirements. This position is located in Boston, MA and will report to the Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager.

What you’ll do:

  • Aide in the development and completion of environmental and safety metrics, safety equipment inventories, and inspections geared to reducing injuries and risk
  • Ensure high attention to detail and level of organization
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Execute proficiency with MS Office including word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Maintain a collaborative approach to task and milestone achievement
  • Ability to meet at least forty hours of consistently-scheduled availability within standard working hours (7:30am – 4pm) in Eastern Standard time, Monday – Friday. Exact hours are negotiable. Contract period
  • Ability to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility’s grounds or at satellite facilities

What you bring:

  • Should be actively pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering or related degree

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
