Summary

The seasonal bus driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting our H2A employees to and from work. In addition, this position will provide transportation for the employees to acquire goods, food, supplies, along with other requested outings as needed. This role will work closely with the H2A coordinator, providing great communication and documentation as requested to ensure efficient coordination and timely arrivals/departures.

Job Responsibilities (not limited to)

• Provide safe and timely transportation for passengers to and from work and other public outings.
• Efficiently coordinate transportation plans to ensure employees arrive at work on time, and don’t spend excessive time waiting to be picked up and returned home from their shift.
• Work with the residents to meet other transportation needs to get goods, food, supplies, and visit various attractions around the county.
• Keep record of headcounts, ensuring no crew members are left behind.
• Be patient with passengers during outings, but ensure a reasonable schedule is maintained to fulfill other transportation needs.
• Fuel the bus and perform a visual inspection before each trip.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Maintain transportation records that include time, date, location, and number of employees.
• Be aware of required maintenance and repairs to prevent further damage to the buses.
• Report any suspicious activity or behavior to H2A coordinator immediately. Mitigate, resolve, and end any escalation if able.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent walking, talking, hearing, sitting, and standing. The use of hands, fingers, and ability to handle and feel. Typical driver conditions.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Spend long hours sitting and operating vehicles.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• Seasonal, 4-days per week, 4:00am 2:30pm or 2:00pm 12:30am (next day) depending on schedule requirements.
• Variable hours, shift start, and end times may vary.
• Agriculture support no overtime.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Clean driving record
• Must be insurable by our insurance company.
• Knowledge of local roadway rules & regulations.
• Exceptional communication.
• Be able to clear medical examination (upon time of hire)
• 2 Years of Experience in Transportation / Chauffeuring (preferred but not required)
