Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a nursing home setting.
- Provide support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff members to ensure a positive and inclusive environment.
- Assist in organizing and managing the activity schedule to ensure a variety of options for residents.
- Collaborate with the recreational therapy team to develop and implement programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Provide compassionate care and support to residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Assist in coordinating special events and outings for residents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in social work, caregiving, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of ADLs and experience working with seniors is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Understanding of dementia care principles and techniques is a plus.
- Ability to manage schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
