Encore Fire Protection is Hiring a Remote Business Intelligence Analyst

Encore is an industry-leading, full-service fire protection company serving the Northeast with offices from Maine to New Jersey. We need a high energy and dynamic Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing team that is based in our Middletown, CT office. Hybrid-remote opportunities will be considered on a case-by-case basis

The ideal candidate for our position is someone who has been part of a data-centric organization in a rapidly growing business that successfully executed on the transformation of the processes and systems that support business processes.

As our dynamic Business Intelligence Analyst you will be working directly with our Business Intelligence Lead, members of our Data Integrity team, and key members of our Operations teams across multiple sites.

This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in the creation of our business intelligence function as we grow to be the largest full-service fire protection company in the Northeast. This role will be challenging but extremely rewarding.

Here is what you can expect to be doing:

  • Design and implement dashboards in Power BI in accordance with a pre-scoped project plan
  • Maintain, update, monitor and troubleshoot a variety of existing reports with the assistance of the Junior BI Analyst and BI Lead
  • Scope out sub-tasks from a larger project and delegate to a Junior BI Analyst as needed
  • Optimize key business processes using a variety of Software/IT

Requirements:

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a background in some of the tools we use, and a general affinity towards making data useful, while also potentially bring new skills to the team. We encourage you to apply if you meet some of these requirements and are open to being trained in the areas you’re not familiar with.

  • 2- 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Power Query, VBA, and nested formulas
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Access, or other relational databases
  • Intermediate knowledge of Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint
  • Experience connecting to a variety of Data Sources (CSV Files, ODBC Connections, SQL Server, SharePoint lists, etc.), as well as joining and transforming that data
  • Ability to troubleshoot errors and trace the issue on reports designed by others
  • Comfort with ambiguity and able to logically structure issues and determine resolutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
