Encompass Medical Group is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Payment Poster/Follow-Up within our central Billing Department located at our Lenexa administrative office. Working Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Mon-Fri (2 days per week remote) 

Position Summary:

The Medical Payment Poster/Follow-Up is responsible for posting payments from the insurance companies, all follow-up and correction of claims, and taking phone calls from patients and insurance companies. Also responsible for back-up support for Customer Service team.

Position Accountabilities:

• Re-works claims that have been returned for additional information
• Posts payment information to patient account profile
• Processes refund requests
• Handles all incoming patient and insurance calls
• Handles back-up support for Customer Service team

Job Specifications:

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medical billing experience or completion of medical billing coursework preferred

Minimum Experience

• 1 year experience of medical billing and insurance posting required
• Previous experience working with Cigna insurance preferred
• 1 year experience of medical insurance Customer Service required
• Experience working in a professional office setting

Job Qualifications:

• Excellent typing skills
• 10-key experience preferred
• Medical background preferred
• Strong customer service background required
• Prior professional working environment experience preferred
• Able to work well in a team setting
• Prior EMR experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Some minimal lifting, (less than 10 lbs.), stooping and walking
