EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst II (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. Ideal candidate must have five years hands on experience in environmental chemistry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare and analyze samples to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or water
Familiarity with EPA, NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM, USP, and/or AOAC methodologies
Understanding of ISO 17025 and NELAC accreditation program requirements
Follow standard operating procedures, quality control procedures, and data validation established for each analytical method
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment and instruments
Perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, performance of volumetric measurements and the utilization of analytical balances
Perform calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained
Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the use laboratory grade acids, solvents and other reagents that require care in use and when handling
Requirements:
Bachelors in a chemical or physical science field of study
Five years’ experience in a commercial production laboratory
Experience with one or more of the following instruments: ICP, ICP-MS, GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, UPLC and/or XRD
Must be able to distinguish colors to perform certain analysis
Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, be able to multi-task and prioritize assignment
Must be able to work independently and with a team
Must be concise, organized, and meticulous regarding work assignments
Knowledge of basic computer skills such Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required
Flexibility to work alternate hours and overtime may be required to meet business demands
Available Shifts:
Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday to Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday to Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Training schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
