We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team in Wichita, KS.

Essential functions of the role:

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports and presentations in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards
• Prepare and administer technical accounting standards and application of US GAAP
• Oversee the general ledger function including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close processes
• Stay updated on and ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations and accounting standards
• Provide guidance and support to ensure accounting team effectiveness and professional growth
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy on the accounting team. Implement best practices and streamline workflows

• Manage and participate in the preparation of various financial statements, forecasts, and reports for the Board
• Oversee the cost accounting process of reporting by division and market
• Perform month end analysis to provide explanations on the Bank's profitability
• Partner with Technology to implement software updates / upgrades

• Other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility of the job

• Certified Public Accountant
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field;
• Or level of education that, together with 10 years industry and management experience, enables the applicant to meet the job requirements
• Proficiency with large server based applications and typical desktop software including Excel
