Role: Principal .Net Developer/Architect

Location: Minneapolis or Chicago (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

W2 only

Overview:

Project Marathon; Greenfield build project to build a Collateral Debt Obligation (CDO) Application; US Bank is #1 in that space in terms of market share owning 55% of the business (closest competitor is 19%) and most products are geared toward 2%-5% of the market share.

Beginning stages of 5 year roadmap starting in Q2, projected that product will bring in ~$1B revenue.

Initial need is a Technical Leader/Principal Engineer with some design/architecture background. Will be working with David and Scott on initial design, technical decision making, building a POC--once off the ground, role may not be entirely hands-on and coding on the day-to-day but more providing technical direction and leadership, but candidates should not be removed from a hands-to-keyboard role.

Looking for a CTH resource for this Lead/Architect, will be building 2-3 additional teams of contractors, targeting nearshore/Mexico. Further discussion of nearshore resources and MDC capabilities needed.

Skill Set/Technical Notes:

  • Microsoft stack developer with .NET 6, will move to as they release. May move to .Net 8 if needed or next released version to take advantage of new features.
  • Microservices architecture, needs deep understanding of microservice layer and systems design to implement a highly performant and scalable microservices solution. We will determine a practical architecture for this CDO application. Microservice architecture is preferred but we re not limited to it and we don t follow it by book/academy, like one service should have one database, etc.
  • Event-driven architecture--has internal API gateway, looking for direction/suggestion as to how they can optimize, potentially leveraging Azure native services. This is TBD. We my not go with Event driven design/architecture. But we do want to explore possible Azure services to make this app scalable, easy to maintain and extend, performant, secure, loosely coupled components/services, good monitoring and logging, avoid over-engineering
  • UI is all Typescript backed React, component-based architecture. OKAY if someone is lighter on the UI side, has flexibility there.
  • SQL Server, Azure SQL databases--highly complex stored procedures. Candidate should have very strong back-end experience. Current main prod database is around 30T and lots of heavy backend data processing.
  • Azure native containers (AKS) Docker, Kubernetes, KeyVault, HELM, Gitlab pipeline for Azure deployment, Scripts for Azure Infrastructure with Terraform, ServiceNow for change management
  • Ideally would like someone with a deeper background in Azure to suggest services that can be leveraged aside from database and AKS i.e. Event Hub, Queue Service, optimize ADO pipelines, how they can utilize chron jobs, step functions, etc. to build an optimized scalable, robust product.
  • Forgerock security SSO with OpenID for USB internal employees. Integrated with ForgeRock
  • Needs someone with experience in a greenfield build, implementation of a large-scale enterprise product. Ideally CDO domain experience (or additional Banking/FS experience)
  • Exceptional communication skills, leadership quality

Must Have:

C#

NET 6 or above

Docker, Kubernetes, Containerization experience

API design, TDD, CICD, GitLab, Terraform

Azure (AKS, Azure SQL, additional services, a level of expertise in Azure to make design recommendations/native services to leverage)

Very strong SQL (stored procedures primarily)

UI (React.js/Typescript preferred)

Product implementation experience

Proven experience in technical leadership, decision making, design

Nice to Have:

Collateral Debt (CDO) experience
