General Manager

As a General Manager with us, you'll take on the day-to-day operational activities for the Local Division. Primary function will be to oversee and manage the division's manufacturing operations in coordination with Sales and Customer Service to provide the highest levels of customer service to the customer, while at the same time achieving safety and cost objectives. You'll also manage the P&L of the division
What You'll Be Doing
Manufacturing Operational Responsibility
Responsible for the management of crating, packaging and logistics operations
Collaborates with Sales and Customer Service to ensure the execution of customer orders are processed with the objective of timely delivery to customers
Tackles all labor and material cost management
Achieves divisional P&L objectives and reporting for the monthly financial reviews
Reviews, writes and upholds standard operations procedures
Sources solutions that continually improve the efficiency and quality of the crate manufacturing process, while at the same time reducing the manufacturing cost
Responsible for performance management of the Manufacturing and Materials staff
Manages daily staffing levels of the Manufacturing and Materials staff
Inventory: Collaborates with Materials to plan and ensure stock/supplies needed are at levels that meet daily demand objectives. Additionally, the Local GM works with Materials and Accounting to plan cycle counts and inventory audits for timely reporting
Interfaces with the Sales team to support their sales activities in the field, as needed
Training and Safety
Ensures the training and development of the Local Manufacturing and Materials staff meets regulatory and company requirements
Compliance with Federal and State authorities (FMC, IATA, DG, U.S. Customs, etc.)
Responsible for employee safety and complying with OSHA and regional safety regulation
Responsible for setting and achieving Local Divisional Safety objectives
Ensures the Local fleet meets company safety requirements and complies with vehicle regulation
Compliance with Federal and Regional environmental laws
Maintains a clean factory in alignment with safety objectives and provide prospective new customers an impressive crate manufacturing experience
What We'd Like to See from You
Required Qualifications
At least 5 years of management leadership experience in manufacturing and customer service
3-5 years of experience in Warehouse
Proficient with computer and software equipment
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
Crating and/or Packaging Industry experience in manufacturing or sales and business development
Import and export experience
Ocean and Air freight sales experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience writing professional sales proposals

Salary: $143,000.00 - $166,000.00 per year
