Empire Comfort Systems is Hiring a Remote Architectural and Design Manager

Job Overview:

JOB PURPOSE: Architectural and Design Manager will be responsible for driving project specifications with Architects, Designers, Engineers and the wider specifier community within North America. This role will focus on product education and building relationships through CEU/Lunch and Learn presentations, special A&D or vendor events, specification creation assistance and other convention or meeting events. Through the use of a shared CRM, this role will additionally focus on continuously feeding the project pipeline for all supported opportunities; custom homes, hospitality, multi-family, public spaces, senior living, education and all other placement where a commercial fireplace would be required. Additionally, this role will work closely with the Commercial sales team and all field representatives to ensure commercial leads receive a timely response.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as a member of the Commercial team by responding to phone calls and emails from architects, designers, engineers, landscape firms, dealers and sales representatives directed to initial specification assistance within a timely manner. Successfully hands off all specified projects or quote requests to the Commercial team or responsible sales representative for closing

  • Serves as the lead relationship builder within the A&D community and broader specifier network throughout North America. Serves as the lead with professional A&D education providers such as AIA, IDCEC etc. as well as professional A&D organizations
  • Proficient user of the Montigo contact management database (CRM). Responsible for the updating and maintenance of existing as well as the creation of new, A&D contact data to include architect and design firms, landscape firms, engineers, mechanical contractors and any other relevant party as defined by the Commercial division. Enters general notes, sets up and maintains forward new project folders (info/specification stage), logs CEU training and event details as well as uploads any relevant specification documents as required
  • Responsible for maintaining material and literature libraries at all targeted A&D firms, major hospitality operators, landscape firms and the wider specifier community
  • Schedules CEU and general (lunch and learn) presentations as well as special vendor events (mini trade show or wine and cheese nights) weekly. Coordinates all lunch and other hosting requirements and facilitates the purchase and delivery
  • With training, presents the company’s existing CEU and general (lunch and learn) presentations. Manages all post training certificate issuance and professional organization reporting no later than the reporting deadline (usually within 48 hours post session)
  • Maintains existing and helps to create new training presentations for AIA, IDCEC and any other identified provider. Responsible for maintaining annual vendor renewals for all presented materials
  • Travels most weeks as well as occasional national trade shows, conventions, industry or special A&D focused events and company meetings (up to 60% combination of local and national/international travel within North America). Must have a valid passport and free to cross country borders
  • Successfully meets annual goal metrics and assigned objectives
  • Maintains “Good Attendance” as per the Montigo Attendance Policy
  • Other specifically assigned duties

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of A&D specification and/or A&D targeted sales experience required
  • Bachelors or combination of post-secondary degree and experience
  • Proficient MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong personal organizational skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities in an unsupervised environment
  • Effective problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, custom fabrication or trades environment is helpful, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,175.06 - $71,264.59 per year
