Are you ready to make a significant impact in managing and enhancing payer relationships? Empire City Laboratories is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Payer Relations/Contract Specialist. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while negotiating and implementing reimbursement agreements to optimize revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analysis and Negotiation Expertise: Review the contractual terms and conditions of existing contracts to ensure that these are aligned with best practices and market conditions. Skillfully negotiate amended agreements, especially related to reimbursement rates and operational terms, to achieve revenue goals and maximize efficiency.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that existing contracts adhere to regulatory requirements, safeguarding our operations and reputation.
· Relationship Building: Leverage existing relationships and cultivate new ones within local, regional and national medical insurance payers to drive revenue growth.
· Implementation Management: Oversee the implementation of new provider relationships, ensuring smooth transitions and successful collaborations.
· Operational Management: Manage day-to-day relationships with our portfolio of medical insurance payers, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
· Industry Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, reimbursement practices and market dynamics, providing real-time updates and recommendations for improvements to upper management.
Skills and Abilities:
· Strategic Engagement: Ability to engage senior leadership of medical insurance companies to achieve revenue goals through constructive dialogue.
· Industry Expertise: Through understanding of medical insurance reimbursement practices, terminology and CPT codes usage.
· Relationship Management: Utilize established relationships and experience to drive early momentum and foster successful partnerships.
· Autonomy: Work independently, communicate proactively and take ownership of this overall responsibility.
· Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation and influencing skills, complemented by superior oral and written communication abilities.
· Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Positive Attitude: Possess a can-do attitude to facilitate organizational growth and success.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Minimum of five years of experience in the health field, responsible for managing health industry business relationships.
· Proficiency in Microsoft toils – Outlook, Teams, Word & Excel.
