Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to oversee a growing service department in a dealership that sells domestic brands. Management firmly believes that an exceptionally managed dealership service department is the key to retaining customers and generating repeat sales.

We are looking to hire the best, so prehire screening and drug testing are required for all applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages a union shop and non-union support to meet manufacturer and municipal standards and compliance
  • Emphasizes the importance of customer satisfaction, maintaining levels that are acceptable to upper management and to the manufacturer
  • Uses available advertising and marketing processes to attract a steady flow of work
  • Implements systems for advisors and technicians to communicate effectively to customers the need for services necessary for reliable vehicle performance
  • Makes certain that work is properly dispatched to technicians to reach the highest levels of productivity for customer vehicles as well as for internal vehicle prep
  • Maintains daily required housekeeping in service department to promote morale and quality standards
  • Devises and implements training schedules for technicians, advisors, and support personnel
  • Addresses and resolves customer concerns quickly and thoroughly

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience managing a union shop in a franchised automotive dealership
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain excellent customer satisfaction
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to ensure that all required documents and approval requests are submitted to the manufacturer in a timely and compliant manner
  • Reynolds & Reynolds Ignite experience preferred
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check
