Emory School of Law is hiring a part-time (32 hours per week) Program Coordinator in the Admissions Office. Under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Admission, the position supports recruitment efforts of the school of law in compliance with accreditation standards and university policy. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Designs, implements, and coordinates operational facets of the admission process including related conferences, conventions and/or meetings.
  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Identifies and pursues ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative procedures used by students and faculty.
  • Actively participates in committees pertaining to academic/programmatic services.
  • Serves as a liaison to and interacts with other groups and organizations participating in the admission process or seeking knowledge of academic programs.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding admission requirements for different programs.
  • Advises students (or prospective students) on matters related to the admission; develops resources to address particular needs.
  • Provides direction, referral, and resources to students.
  • Develops promotional and communication materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Maintains complete and accurate program records.
  • May maintain and update the departmental website.
  • May supervise program staff, interns, and/or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:

  • Develops a working knowledge of all aspects of the Office of Admission.
  • Answers questions from constituents regarding:
    • program requirements
    • application deadlines
    • local (Atlanta) resources
  • Maintains complete and accurate records to ensure satisfactory audits and federal compliance (databases, academic files, etc.).
  • Works with office staff to develop operational calendar and documentation for office procedures.
  • Works proactively with office staff to find ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative procedures used by students and faculty.
  • Maintains a consistent, high quality, customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services to internal and external customers. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Opus, and Canvas. 
  • Prior experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize incoming work, manage information, and provide value-added service to others.
  • Itermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Attention to detail, and experience with compliance audits.

  • First round interviews early October, final in-person interviews occur in mid-October. The position will ideally start in early November.
